Some of our recent reviews: Nice stop-over park. We were given a coupon for 1 free DVD rental and a package of free goodies when we registered. We will be back. Barry Crocker 4/19/2011 This was a really nice and friendly park. The sites are just gravel and it looks like a big parking lot but the game room and facilities are very nice. The staff is very friendly. We only stayed 2 nights but will return to this park when in Carlsbad. Dan Lempke 1/31/2011 Our Girlscout troop visited between Christmas and New Years and had an absolute wonderful time. Chuck and his staff were so helpfull. We have stayed in several state and national parks and have never gotten ervice like this. For anyone who reads the unfavorall reviews, remember this. This campground is under new management and things are better. Definately the place my family will stay next time camping near Carlsbad. “AMOL” February 2012 I gave this place a try despite the negative reviews because I saw that it was under new management, and I'll say I'm pretty impressed. All the office people were super friendly, the grounds are super clean, and there are lots of amenities that I've never seen in a camp ground before (namely a game room and swimming pool). Plus, they have free coffee in the office in the morning! :D The bathrooms and showers were also really clean, which is a definite plus. I was tent camping here, and the site was reasonably flat with a big tree for cover. The tent sites seemed a little close together, but there weren't any other tent campers there when we stayed, so it wasn't a big deal. If I weren't from the pacific northwest where camping means lush forest and not being able to see your camping neighbors, I'd probably even give this place 5 stars. “Blue” November 2011 Park has good interior gravel roads and flat graveled spaces. Sites were wide enough to park next to our trailer. Park is far enough away from the highway that road noise was not an issue. Restrooms and showers were clean, although we didn’t use them. Campground staff and management were very helpful about local information. This is the closest RV park to Carlsbad Caverns NP that is still in the city of Carlsbad. The cable TV and Wi-Fi were excellent. The office also has an extensive DVD rental library, and the first rental is complimentary. There a lot of long term residents in the park, but that is because of the oil and gas resurgence in the area. We would stay here again if we return to the Carlsbad area.
